“Mommy, I’ll be alright”
By: Jessica Williams
Even in the darkest of night,
A little girl is wide awake.
The littlest star shines bright.
The little girl stares up at this brilliant light.
She slowly begins to shake.
Even in the darkest of night.
The little girl’s lips change to white.
Her mother starts to pray.
The littlest star shines bright.
The little girl sees her mother’s tears, “Mommy, I’ll be alright”.
The mother’s heart began to break.
Even in the darkest of night.
“Mommy, I’m going to be a star”, the girl smiled with delight.
The little girl’s eyes begin to close, the mother cries a lake.
The littlest star shines bright.
On this night she will die.
Her life, the Lord will take.
Even in the darkest of night,
The littlest star shines bright.
