Alpha Poem (Waking Up)

Alarm screams in my ear,
Bedroom floods with painful lighting,
Cruel 6 am pulls me out of bed,
Day starts to begin,
Enthusiastic sunlight pours in my window,
Forcing me to wake up,
Groaning, I rollover,
Hesitant to move,
I pray for 5 more minutes,
Just 5 more minutes,
Knees, elbows, and ankles ache,
Longing to rest,
Mom yells from the kitchen,
Not much time left to get ready,
Opening my eyes, I see the clock,
Popping out of bed,
Quilts fly in all directions,
Race toward the bathroom,
Shower turns on,
Terribly cold,
Unprepared I shake,
Very rude awakening,
Which actually does wake me up,
Xtremely,
Yawns and sighs have ceased, catching
Zzzzz's is no longer wanted.
